Learn about the basic of nightmare disorder and treatment options:
Nightmares are not just bad dreams—they can be debilitating. For individuals suffering from Nightmare Disorder, repeated distressing dreams can significantly impair sleep, exacerbate mental health symptoms, and reinforce trauma responses. This workshop provides an in-depth clinical exploration of nightmare disorder, its connection to trauma and PTSD, and evidence-based treatment strategies. Special focus will be given to Dream Analysis and Image Rehearsal Therapy two powerful yet distinct tools that can be integrated into therapeutic work. We will also discuss how EMDR therapy can be used and applied.
Participants will leave with both theoretical knowledge and practical tools to assess, conceptualize, and treat clients experiencing chronic nightmares.
Workshop Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Define and differentiate between Nightmare Disorder, PTSD-related nightmares, and common disturbing dreams.
